Threadcakes is an online cake competition where Cake Artists Choose a Threadless T-shirt design, and create it in cake. I chose a ink drawing called "inksPIRATE", by Brian Nur Afandi. This design was *so* challenging, but very fulfilling in the end. My cake PLACED 4th in the competition, versus some amazing entries. INCREDIBLY Honored!

Now, when people see photos of my cake, they say, "but how did it taste?" and I reply, "just as good as it looked!""

Client Review, "Dirty TEnnis 30" cake

Picture
"Art2Eat Cakes are the best.  Heather goes above and beyond our expectations in style and flavor of her cakes.  My husband ordered our first cake for my surprise birthday party to feed about 50 people.  It was a 2-tier, tennis-themed cake.  The cake topper was an exact replica of my tennis racket and the rest of the cake had intricate details resembling a tennis court, net, and even ball boys – all of which was edible.  The top layer, carrot cake with pineapple, was my favorite.  It was perfectly moist and flavorful with just the right amount of frosting.  My guests also loved the bottom layer of Vanilla with Strawberry jam.
Not only are Heather’s cakes great to look at and taste, but she is also such a pleasure to work with; very talented and creative.  Heather and I are now planning her second cake for us; I can’t wait to see what she creates next!" - Mrs. W , Birthday Girl

"Love Locks featured in Vol5 Issue 1 of Cake Central Magazine

Picture
The good Folks at Cake Central contacted me again to take part in a segment! This challenge was exploring the idea of Love Locks - the practice where couples close a lock with their names upon it on various sentimental places (like bridges) to symbolize the permanence of their Love. Cake Central also sent me Inspiration that included the Chinese aspect of this tradition, including red characters and golden dragons. I took them literally, depicting two Golden Chinese Dragons entwined over a giant Lock, tenderly grasping their shared Heart between them. The Characters on the lock read "Forever Locked in Love". This was made of real cake, fondant and gumpaste. The Lock hasp has a wire support as do the Dragons. This cake appears on page 45 of Volume 5, Issue 1 of Cake Central Magazine! Big Thanks to Cake Central for the print opportunity, it was fun! XXOO - Published 2/14

9News "Colorado Cake ace", news interview, competition

Picture
9News here in Denver had a "Colorado Cake Ace" competition which ended May 24th. They began by asking for nominations, and then chose Five Finalists. Those Five were posted on Facebook, and Voting was opened to the public. People could "vote" for their choice by 'liking' the picture of the Entry. I sent in three cakes- The Rainbow Pegacorn, Red Dragonling, and Cowpony at the Chili Cookoff. I received over 2000 votes over three pictures, with the Winner, Rainbow Pegacorn, getting 1085 votes! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I could not have done it without you, my wonderful cake admirers! I appeared On  Air Live Friday May 24th morning at 8:40am on Channel 20 (affiliates of 9News) and was interviewed by TaRhonda Thomas, who actually took not only a second, but a third bite of my cake!!! That's an endorsement right there! Here is my 9News Interview:

"In the time I have gotten to know Heather, her talent for artistry and design has grown into a passion. Her sense for details and realism is one that comes naturally, knowing what her client wants and exceeding that expectation. Her unique creation helped to make our surprise birthday party for my boyfriend an unforgettable time. Amid high praise and great laughs for her design of a “Florida State Gnome,” this was a hit and looked just like him. We would highly recommend Heather’s great work and talent to anyone in the future. It is a great pleasure to be regarded as a good friend and fellow artist. "

RUSH - 6hr Golden Guitar

Picture
Anyone who has a 16yr old knows how hard it can be to get THAT smile! Especially for a Birthday Cake! Look at it - I'd say he likes it! This guitar is his pride and joy - I think he really got a kick out of seeing the half-scale twin in cake. He was also extremely impressed (another hard thing to do with teens) that I'd done it all while he was gone at school ;-)

"Climbing 40" Jeep Rubicon 'Stormtrooper"

Picture
"My Fiance had Heather do this one of a kind Birthday cake for my surprise 40th party. While I was surprised at the party itself, the cake was what really surprised me! The attention to detail and how "like" my real Jeep she made the cake. I could tell this was no simple project for Heather, and that she was a true professional and took pride in her work. I highly recommend Heather for your cake making needs, you will not be let down. My cake Rocked Heather, THANK YOU!"
Chuck V.

"I wanted to do something really special for my fiancée's 40th Birthday. I began pulling together a surprise party but wanted something that would take it up a notch. I came across Heather through a friend and as soon as I saw her work, I knew a great cake would definitely achieve that.
To give you some history...my fiancée is a car fanatic so I knew it would have to be something car related but couldn't really make a decision. Heather looked at all the pictures on his facebook and came up with the Jeep idea. The white Rubicon is an exact replica of his Jeep "Stormtrooper".
Heather told me the cake would become the talk of the party. While I expected it to "Wow" everybody I didn't expect it to become the center of conversation. My fiancée absolutely loved the cake as did all his 4-wheeling buddies! The care and detail she put into the cake was noticed right away. Although she was the one who created this piece of art, it made me look like a rock star! Thanks Heather! :)"

Great Pyramid of Egypt

Picture
"Heather made an amazing Egyptian pyramid cake for our first grade Ancient Egypt celebration day. It was more than enough to feed 50 people. It looked like it came straight from Egypt! She make edible palm trees and camels that surrounded the base of the cake. It looked too good to eat! Parents and students all enjoyed a piece of the pyramid cake and everyone wanted seconds! It was the most delicious way to celebrate the day!"

Dancin' in the Streets Music Festival

Picture
"...there was a huge music festival called Dancin' In The Streets. Heather re-created the festival logo as a cake. OMG, it was the center of conversation for over 100 people as it was detailed down to the smallest little dancer. Not only was it visually stimulating, but it tasted like it came from a High End NYC Cake Shop!!!!"

Classic Swiss Dots on Lavender and Tiki Island Wedding

Picture
"I've had the joy of eating two of the Art2Eat creations. She created an amazing tiki cake for my boyfriends daughters wedding, it was more then amazing, it was personal, it even had fondant bride and groom, flip flops, amazing Hawaiian flowers, it was exquisite.
As a surprise for me, she made me an elegant lavendar birthday cake for my surprise birthday party (turned into engagement party).
Highly recommend this artist for any cake for any occasion. It won't be a standard cake, it'll be phenominal!!"

"Art2Eat Cakes has been a part of two very important events in my own personal life.
The first experience was at my daughter's Hawaiian themed wedding. My fiancee knows the creator of Art2Eat Cakes, and thought we'd be getting a standard type cake with some flowers. We were so surprised at the imagination and creativity that we ended up with. Two totem poles, homemade couple, absolutely the most amazing designed cake I have ever seen in my life.
Art2Eat Cakes also created a gorgeous, elegant, classy cake for my fiancee's surprise birthday party, which was also a surprise engagement party. She fell in love with the cake, found it hard to cut up, it was so beautiful.
I highly recommend this designer for any cake you want that is not standard, but is creative, imaginative, beautiful, personalized, and all around wonderful."
