Twisted Treats, a Sugar Art Collaboration for Colette Peters! - 6-5-19
WOW!! It is a Sugar Art Collaboration to top all Collaborations! The one-and-only Colette Peters, creator of the Topsy Turvy Cake, has made a Coloring Book full of sweet, twisted treats! To launch this project, 49 Sugar Artists (including me) were each assigned a page of the book to reproduce in 3d, FULL- COLOR! Well, Full-Color just happens to be my middle name!
I undertook to design the craziest, most rainbow creation I could. Custom structures, edible rice paper prints, modeling chocolate, silky metallic airbrush colors!! Forget gravity-defying, I wanted ZERO-G! This cake started with a custom structure, but also included rainbow buttercream inside. Those amazing swirl-spirals were made with Magic Chocolate, airbrushed with Magic Colours metalic airbrush tints. The crazy fun pattern on the cones and drip was printed with edible ink onto rice paper, from a pattern I created years ago, "Psychedelic Dream"
