Dreams of Purple Prince Tribute - 4/24/19 - "Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today. To get through this thing called LIFE"
It gives me great joy to share my most recent cake, Dreams of Purple Prince. Made for a friend having a dedicated Purple gathering, and also in tribute. I love Prince's style, adore his music, and miss that he is no longer with us so much. <3
The panels are fondant, airbrushed with The Artists symbol, from a custom hand-cut stencil. Prince is made 100% from layers of hand-cut gumpaste. The roses are Caljava premades, customized Purple with airbrush and dust colors (super-wow, super-easy).
This deliciousness was carved and stacked from double chocolate pound cake with Raspberry Swiss Meringue Buttercream. OMG+ levels of yum, y'all. I was so pleased and gratified on the reaction upon delivery, since I really liked this cake. Tears were shed, hugs were given, cameras were going, and smiles were all around. That's why we do it, all Artists...that tingle of happy feel good, restoration of faith in the Good Things in Life. I felt The Artist approved <3 Sending sweetness your way,
