Princess Kelsy Mouse - 1/2/22
When one of your favorite people turns five, you want to make sure she never forgets it! This Princess requested Pink, Bling, and Mouse! I added a little sweet - made from Vanilla Poundcake with Vanilla Buttercream (a Princess favorite) and topped off with a Magic Chocolate / Cake mouse head, crowned with an Isomalt jewel. She is gowned in solid Caljava fondant, and her only support is a single center dowel. I'm told all Princesses involved we thrilled!! SWEET+
This was one of those cakes where I wished I had more time to spend on precise details, particularly in the face. This cake was interrupted mid-make by the Superior/Louisville Fire, which fortunately missed our home, but which we did have to pack in pre-evacuation mode for. When I was able to return to it, with power restored and seeming normalcy with it, it was a stark reminder of how much we really all have, and how easily it can be gone. As it is I was so very grateful to be able to finish her, in time for her to do what she was made to do - Create Permanent Sweet Memories.
