Great Pyramid of Egypt - 10/10/10 - My daughter's class did an "Egyptian Museum" in their classroom to finish their unit on ancient people and her teacher asked me to make the kids a very special sculpted cake for a surprise! Mrs. Mc asked me to make a pyramid, no doubt thinking it would be a simple subject bless her. I'm sure she was expecting a flat cake too. It was deceptively demanding; I used more math in the making of this cake than any other to date. We delivered the cake during some passing period, so swarms of excited kids surrounded us - "WOW! Is that a CAKE!?!?!" My husband played blocker and got us there. When cake-cutting time came the kids were SO excited. I was sure to make enough sugar palm trees/camels so each kid got one on their slice...plus a few parents (50+). There were even a very few slices left behind for the teachers after school. Rave reviews all around of the Golden Vanilla cake white buttercream
