Flavors
The Art continues inside the Cake!
Cakes are done in a filled/iced style and covered with handmade Marshmallow Fondant. Most cakes have three opportunities for flavor; cake, icing, and syrup.
Our Cake Artist Heather Sherman follows the torte tradition of gently drizzling a flavored syrup over our cakes before filling or icing- just to add more tenderness and flavor notes. The Buttercream icing we make can also be flavored, but keep in mind that if using one flavor of buttercream to cover an entire cake it must fit in flavor with all the layers if the layers are touching (as if inside a sculpted shape). In tiered cakes the flavors are separated, and so different combinations can be chosen. Mild flavors seem to be preferred, especially if a large number of guests with an unknown variety of tastes are expected. *Surprise Rainbow Inside - Golden Almond Vanilla cake separated while in batter form, tinted in rainbow colors, and baked into a tie-dye rainbow swirl that erupts when sliced. VERY fun :-) Extra Cost for this additional time involved - please inquire
*Wheat-Free - Most flavors can be made using gluten-free flours for those with Wheat sensitivities, but we are NOT a gluten-free facility and cannot offer 100% gluten-free products at this time. Extra cost for this ingredient, please inquire.

CULINARY CERTIFICATIONS
Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts
Our Cake Artist Heather Sherman has graduated the Pastry Arts program at the August Escoffier School of Culinary Arts with Honors in June of 2012...just to be certain our cakes are as yummy as they can possibly be! The Art Continues - under the Fondant. All our cakes, buttercreams, fillings, fondants and syrups are all made IN HOUSE...no boxed mixes or pails of frosting here! You have a choice with cake, and we strive to give you a superior experience far far above that of a mass-produced, frozen and thawed grocery-store cake!
In October of 2012 our Cake Artist Heather Sherman took the state-required Food Safety Certification required for Managers and received the first 100% test score my instructor had ever seen. We strive to keep your experience fun and SAFE. Food Art can be a prime location for unsafe practices, so we go above-and-beyond to insure a product that has conformed to all food-safety requirements at all times through production. Our Artist wears gloves throughout production, and apply extra care when sealing non-food support structures away from edible cake/frosting/fondant - all the way down to the board. Cutting guides are always provided and any inedible supports are clearly marked and counted for removal when serving.
