DIY Gingerbread Collaboration, Lace House in the Aspens - 12/21/21
This year I really wanted to do a tribute to what I was raised as "Gingerbread House" to be. See, here in former gold-rush country in Colorado the style of yesteryear was elaborate wooden trim (a.k.a "Gingerbread") which was painted in various colors and attached in layers upon layers to tiny little mountain houses. Many times there is a mine drift (tunnel) in the backyard! Once a year anyone can find Gold here when the quaking aspens all turn together and for about three weeks the hills are sweet with the scent of rustling ripe leaves. It's a great time to go Gingerbread House spotting and see what hidden treasures one can find - Stay out of mine drifts and private property! This piece of Art is inspired by a famous gingerbread house here in Colorado, the Lace House over in Central City.
