Cowgirl Bandana and Dancing Horses - 7/18/10 - Our little Cowgirl had another birthday!!! Last year she had a very specific cake request last year (pink princess castle). This year, she has matured into themes, and asked for simply 'a cowgirl cake with horses'. Of the two sketches I showed her, this is the one she picked. Everything except the blue-jean board is edible/sugar - horses, bandanna, rope, roses. I hand-painted a piece of red fondant with B&W and draped it over the cow-pony patches layer of Golden Vanilla filled with pineapple/coconut. The white fondant of that layer was painted the same way the bandanna was painted, and it all saddles up onto the bottom layer of chocolate filled with chocolate iced with chocolate covered in chocolate fondant!!! She was thrilled with her cake, as were all her party guests, and we returned home with just enough left-over for big brother and papa. Happy Birthday!!
